A Ferret Shelter
by Mike Janke
(Large, Flash presentation.)
Nook Shelter/Adoption Center is
no-kill ferret shelter established to promote the care and welfare of
the domestic companion ferret. We provide information, education, and
exchange of ideas for ferret owners, owners to be, veterinarians, and
pet store personnel in all aspects relating to the domestic companion
ferret. We are home to many wonderful adoptable ferrets, young and old.
Some who require special care or medication, have become permanent
residents. We also rescue ferrets in situations where they are displaced
from their homes and re-home them when possible.
The Ferret Nook is
supported by its members, volunteers and generous donations.
There are many ways
you can help; for example:
- Take a look at our members hard at work
helping with Spring
- We hold Fix 'Er Up 'Er weekends.

- We hold Brat Sales annually at Wal-Mart
on the east side of Madison.
- Members can also participate in many fun
events hosted by other organizations, i.e., The Ferret Fiesta hosted by
The Ferret Den in Milwaukee.

Ferrets are great pets but not a pet for
everyone. If you are thinking about getting a ferret for a pet, please
take the time to do a little research on their care and maintenance.
